    A little bit about us:

    Andrew Jenkins is the owner of Canfield Jenkins House of Photography since January 2000.  That winter, he bought Canfield Photography and moved it from Ovid to St. Johns.  The studio is located in a 100 year old Victorian style home with a carriage house and our very own portrait park.  It is the perfect place for a photography studio. 

    Some random things about Andrew: -He is married to his wonderful, gorgeous wife Emily and has three kids.  Alex is 16 and driving!, Gabriella is 11 and Caroline is 2.  -----He is always SUPERFANTASTIC  -----He can make anyone laugh and feel comfortable  -----He loves Neil Diamond  -----He is a sports fanatic  -----He is a great dancer.

    Jackie Palmer came to work at Canfield Jenkins is the Spring of 2000 after getting her degree in Elementary Education.  She specializes in Children's Photography and absolutely LOVES photographing babies, toddlers and kids.  You will also find her stealing Senior sessions from Andrew and photographing Weddings.  She basically loves everything to do with photography. 

    Random things about Jackie: -She is married to an amazing, funny, handsome guy named Tim  -----She has one baby named Jake who is a Chocolate Lab :)  -----Her favorite drink of choice is Dr. Pepper  -----Her husband is always trying to get her to stop buying children's clothes.  He has to remind her that they don't have any kids!  -----She is a hugger and loves to give hugs

    Penny VanDuinen and Barb Seger are our behind the scenes girls who keep the studio rolling!  Penny will help you pick out your framing, take your order and lately she has spent her time painting the downstairs of the studio.  She also makes the best cookies!  Barb is our office coordinator and makes sure everything is just right with your order.  She keeps Andrew and Jackie's creative minds on track and lately loves holding her grand daughter. She also makes a mean Whacky Cake!

     

Just a teaser

As most of you know, I went out to visit my older brother’s twins a couple weeks ago. I took SO many images, I’m kinda overwhelmed editing them! We photographed every day that I was there! It was such a great trip. The babies are just beautiful and really sweet. They are still so small. Smaller than most of the babies I have photographed here. But they are growing everyday and are doing great! They are probably both over 6 lbs by now! I can’t wait to see them again. I hate that we are so far away. Actually it’s no fun being away from my nieces and nephews. There are 4 Duke kids now and 2 are in Texas and 2 are in Vegas! But, I’ll take what I can get and cherish the times I have with them.
I promise there will be more images to come but I wanted to post this one of my brother and little Sophia. I love how they are looking at each other!

Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Are you ready to have the cutest Valentine’s cards around? Sessions are only $35 for one child – one outfit- up to 10 images to choose from!
We’ve added a special card package just for this session too. 8 – 4×5 folded cards for family and friends, 8 bookmarks for teachers and loved ones and 12 handout cards for those best friends! This is the perfect combination of LOVE!
AND…for this mini only, we are doing online viewing! The day after your session you will get a username and password so you can go online and see your images. Choose your favorite images for your cards, and then we will get them ordered ASAP so you can have them before Valentine’s Day. I know…exciting!
So send us an email this weekend, or give us a call on Tuesday to set up your appointment. I’m taking sessions Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon next week! 989-227-8441

A New Year…a New Baby Girl

My old friend from college came over to the studio with her new baby girl. She is such a beautiful baby! Gorgeous hair, big pink cheeks and a smile that is contagious. I fell in love with her. It is an amazing thing to see your friends kids. I don’t know why it affects me so much, but there is something special about seeing a new life that is somewhat familiar. I don’t know if that makes any sense.:)
Anyway, here she is…

Tomorrow I’m heading out to Vegas to visit my brother and the TWINS!!! I’m so excited! I will come home with lots of pictures to share I promise.
